Informal Worship

Informal Worship Service

We refer to our 8:00 AM Sunday Morning Worship service as our Informal Service. It is a pretty much "laid-back" service with Pastor in shirt sleeves and the Congregation too. We do more singing than they do at the Traditional Service and more of the old favorites too. Pastor's sermon message is the same of course, just a more informal presentation.
Those serving Christ in Worship during the morning Worship are:
Organist: Dick Smith, Liturgist: Ken Lewis, Reader: Young Hines,
Greeters & Ushers: Helen & Richard Kronen, Alberta Burton, Ron Smith, Bruce Berard, Phil Reed, Dean Epperson, J.R. & Chris McGillen, Jim Kinhart,
Sound: Zach Berard & Barbara Berard,
Announcements: LouEtta McClaflin & Kristie Marton
.

Liturgist: The light of a candle is enough to chase away the darkness.
Community: Let your light shine brightly through us, O God.
Liturgist: Drops of water will bring a seed to birth.
Community: Refresh us with your overflowing love.
Liturgist: One song can drive despair away.
Community: Sing your song in us and through us, again and again in this New Year.
Liturgist: Words of truth prevail and heal.
Community: Plant your truth deep so our words may echo your peace.
All: Here in this place, may we see light to heal our dark-ness, feel love to be refreshed and renewed,
hear a song to lift our spirits and know a word to give us peace and strength.

Community in Prayer and Pastoral Prayer
The Lord’s Prayer is #895 in the Hymnal
Our Father, Who Art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name. Thy Kingdom come, Thy Will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory forever. Amen.

Prayer Response “Sweet Hour of Prayer”
“Sweet hour of prayer! sweet hour of prayer! the joys I feel, the bliss I share of those whose anxious spirits burn with strong desires for thy return! With such I hasten to the place where God my Savior shows his face, and gladly take my station there, and wait for thee, sweet hour of prayer!”
